• We design and build sites using standard industry tools. Marisa Design understands that web site content changes over time. Our sites are easy to modify, using standard software such as Macromedia HomeSite or Dreamweaver. For clients who need to update their own sites, we can set up content management systems that will enable text editing with no need to learn HTML.
• We design sites that load quickly. At Marisa Design, we believe that web pages should load quickly and cleanly, even for users with standard modems.
• We design sites that are easy to use. At Marisa Design, we believe that ease of use should be the primary objective for every web site.
• We design sites that meet Web standards. We program all our work by hand, rather than using converted or generated code, so our code is valid to current HTML and XHTML protocols. In addition, we always use cascading style sheets (CSS) to format text. Where possible, we use cascading style sheet positioning (CSS-P) to control page layout as well.
• We design search engine-friendly sites. Marisa Design knows that good search engine rankings are important to our clients. Many factors go into achieving high search engine rankings, including valid and "clean" code, proper use of HTML tags, and -- most important -- advising our clients on ways to enhance site content.
• We believe in high quality and attention to detail. At Marisa Design, we strive to do our best at every task, no matter how small.
